Community Robotics Learning Foundation
Community Robotics Learning Foundation (CRLF) is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization established in 2014. CRLF focuses on creating a scalable infrastructure by providing a project based STEM-focused learning environment as well as assistance in Competitive STEM programs.
CRLF currently serves the Santa Ynez Valley and its surrounding towns: Buellton, Solvang, Santa Ynez, Ballard, Los Olivos, and the surrounding areas within the Santa Ynez Valley, including the Chumash Indian Reservation.
CRLF provides robot kits as well as central location, such as build-room, allows for students and their teams to focus on pursuing competitions or other engineering projects instead of trying to manage resources and infrastructure.
CRLF’s focus for 2015 is to seed area classrooms and afterschool programs with robot kits and create a fully stocked maker space, for teams of students to converge and collaborate in STEM knowledge transfer via robotic kits and competitions.
A quick FYI/FAQ about CRLF: * CRLF maintains a profile on GuideStar. There you will find a copy of our IRS determination letter classifying us as non-profit.
* Our 990s are filed with the IRS. If you would like a recent copy of our most recent filing, please contact us. We would be happy to provide you a recent copy.
* Since we are a new non-profit we heavily operate under a lean business model. This means we focus on reducing costs where possible (e.g. not printing paper, utilizing the latest in technology, and our talented volunteer network).
* We utilized valid and reliable integrated online curriculum offerings by Carnegie Mellon and Vex. Both are considered to be best-practices and industry standards for robotics learning.
* Currently, we estimate that it costs $250 dollars per student per year. So the more you donate, the more students we can reach.
“What We Have To Learn To Do, We Learn By Doing”
Helping others is not a job, it is a calling
Where It All Began
Community Robotics Learning Foundation was created so students could be more prepared for a future of STEM.
Every Single Campaign Counts
Every cent you donate helps students learn about STEM through robotics.
We believe students are ill-prepared in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. With CRLF student will be more prepared and future proof jobs in the future involving STEM.
The Big Movement
We also believe that students need to be inspired and have fun via hands-on or project based instruction to experience a knowledge transfer in the shortest amount of time in order to acquire these future-proofing skills.
